K2 snowboards are from K2 Sports. In the 1960s, K2 Sports founder Bill Kirschner began developing and producing the first fiberglass skis. In the 1980s, the company decided to enter the newly evolved snowboard market and produced its first glowing, neon snowboard, called “Gyrator”, in 1988. It has become an important part of snowboarding history and is still a favorite of collectors. Although originally emerging as a ski brand, K2 Snowboarding is considered one of the few grassroots snowboard companies. They offer a full range of all mountain, freestyle, jib, freeride and splitboard snowboards, as well as bindings and boots.
